Who I Am
Leadership and Team-Dynamic Coach
Hi, I’m Dr. Julie. I look forward to connecting with you, getting to know you, hearing your story, and walking alongside you on your journey toward greater character, communication, and effective leadership!
As for me, I hold a Doctorate in Leadership, as well as being an ACC credentialed coach with the International Coach Federation. I also hold an M.A. in Cross-Cultural Studies, Graduate Certificate in Counseling, and B.A. in International Relations and Music.
For over 37 years, including 15 years overseas in three countries, I’ve trained many people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ages in personal and leadership development. This has included: Official teaching positions; public-speaking engagements; and co-authoring books, such as Communicating Like Christ, Who Is a Godly Leader?, and Speaking Beautiful English.
Also, for as long as I can remember, I’ve helped different kinds of people accept and get along better with each other.
So why am I coaching leaders, considering I’ve seldom been a top leader myself?
Honestly, I asked myself the same question when my friends and family suggested that possibility.
Here’s the answer: As someone who has often found myself in assistant and co-leader roles, I GET IT when it comes to helping top leaders connect with everyone else. And, mid-level leaders, I totally get your position and challenges of keeping everyone unified!
That’s why I have a passion for and success in facilitating 360-degree leadership– leading oneself first, one’s peers, “upward”, and “downward”.
My coaching reflects that appreciation for what all-level leaders go through in getting others on board. It also includes a warm, empathetic, strengths-based approach that puts my clients at ease, knowing I believe in them and will walk alongside them to achieve the results they yearn for.
CORE VALUES– WHAT REALLY MATTERS TO ME
I value my relationship with the Lord and how that helps me grow in character and relate better to others.
I value my relationships with family, friends, and anyone I’m called to serve. To me there are no strangers, only friends I haven’t met yet!
I value integrity — no pretense or posturing– the person you see in me is the person you get.
I value unity and harmony– not peace-faking, not peace-breaking, but instead peace-making.
I value diversity and inclusion—everyone is worthy of respect and acceptance, regardless of our differences.
I value encouragement—building others up and making them feel good about themselves and each other.
I value joy—the Lord came to give life, not take it away, so we need to enjoy it, help others enjoy it, and laugh together as much as possible.
I value lifelong learning—a growth mindset that keeps us ever changing for the better.
